Ebb & Flowmotion is an expression of the culmination of my experiences as an athlete, trainer, coach, body builder, and yoga instructor. My experiences with success have shed light on sustainable and effienct practices. Only the most successful practices are then passed on to my clients. My clients successes shape the way I train and further the evolution of my training philosophies. This collective evolution has grown to what acts as a foundation from which all my fitness related endeavors grow.
The foundation upon which success is built is laid with five building blocks: nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and meditation. Implementation of the building blocks starts very basic and progresses organically. This recipe naturally leads towards success.
On the wall of the dungeon-like YMCA gym where I started lifting nearly thirty years ago, there was a poster. A poorly drawn chain with a broken link was captioned with a concise statement: “You’re only as strong as your weakest link.” After more than 10,000 hours training clients, I find it couldn’t be more true. Integration of all of the elements simply leads to a faster realization of success.
As an example, instead of doing a half hour of treadmill and then going through a strength routine, why not swing a kettlebell? You will reap the benefits of cardiovascular exercise and strength training in half the time. To take things to the next level, use the movements as an opportunity to practice meditation. Instead of just going through the motions, become completely immersed in the moment by intentionally focusing on breath, movement patterns, and body alignment; in a state of flow.
When calisthenics, yoga, and strength are integrated with yoga mind and bodybuilding principles, the result is meditation in motion. Read the blog, try the workout routines, subscribe, and take the first step towards making your goals a reality by learning about fitness coaching. I look forward to learning from your successes.
Thank You, Dom.
