Every Morning I wake up looking forward to breakfast. In addition to brewing an essential pot of coffee, we have gotten in the routine of making smoothies. Most of the ingredients come from the garden when vegetables and greens are in season. This late in the season, frozen kale is the only garden ingredient available. It is added to a mix of fruits, vegetables, and berries for a delicious and healthy way to jumpstart the day. Here is what went into todays mix and what it looked like after a trip through the blender:
We happen to use all organic food. It is encouraged, but not required, and there is no defined recipe for what constitutes “the best breakfast smoothie”. It simply comes down to your tastes, what is available, and your nutritional requirements. The process is simple, quick, and cleanup takes only a minute.
